Windows Explorer reports files and folders from the hard drive but not my CD Rom or flash memory cards. Other programs like iTunes or Windows Media Player reads and reports the media files just fine. Microsoft Knowledge Base reports that this problem is a result of anti virus software and firewalls. The problem persists with antivirus and firewalls turned off. Currently running Windows XP Media on a Compaq SR1913WM

Did you recently install The Sims 2: Bon Voyage? I've heard that they've been having problems.
