Threatfire antivirus information?

i have threatfire anti virus.i want to know that do i need other anti virus software.

threat fire can block all virus, torjon and other???

Threatfire antivirus information?auto protect

Threatfire is intended as a complement to your current antivirus; it is not intended as a stand-alone application. So yes, you still need a real full-time antivirus.

I use and recommend Avast.

Avast 4 Home Edition: http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-...

My norton antivirus keeps telling me that it has blocked a virus from attacking my computer?

The virus is a Trojan Dialler and is located in C/windows/Temp/idd94.tmp.exe. Norton Quarantines this file and deletes it, however the alert pops up every 20 mins. so far since yesterday, I have over 60 attempts by the same virus. My firewall is on, my Definitions are up to date. what could the problem be? My computer ands Norton software is 2 mths old, and everything is up to date, windows updates etc.

Any Ideas???

Hi there,

The file you mention (idd94.tmp.exe) is part of a malware infection known as DollarRevenue.

Detailed Prevx Info on idd94.tmp.exe:

The best and easiest way to remove this infection is by installing the Free Trial of Prevx1. This will scan your PC and remove this and any other infections free of charge.

My norton antivirus keeps telling me that it has blocked a virus from attacking my computer?ducati

Be thankful your Norton is doing it's job! Try deleting your Temp Folder.
thats because they installed a exe. file remove it manually , be glad that norton actually did its job ,to block it
Download superantispyware. It will fix that problem. It is VERY effective and it is FREE.
Try to do a new total scan of your computer ....look at the norton quarantine and if the virus is there deleted from there....
When I had Norton and when they told me I had a virus on my computer I used to run my norton and get rid of it.
Try running a full virus scan and see what comes out of that.
Check your settings on your internet connection. A dialler should be set to your internet service provider if it isn't then delete that connection.

Panda from previous experience is no good and the overall speed is the pits.

I recommend you getting NOD32, Kapersky or Windows Live Onecare.

Also Norton and Mcafee are no good in protection and general speed design.

Overall I would rate Panda 1 out of 5

Hope that helped you not to get it
I have used it for two years now and find it to be very affective, i use the firewall, anti virus anti spyware, this is the first product that has totally protected my machine, nothing gets into my machine unless i let it in, but when the firewall tells me that it is a dangerous site then i do not down load, and it is not to expensive.
I would recommend not getting it. Try to get a brand name such as norton or mcafee, EVen kasperky will do

I'm not surprised. I refuse to use anything connected with Norton just for those reasons. They are buggy and resource hogging programs that don't work as they should.

Search for "avast" on the net. If it's for home-use it's free. It costs for busineses though. Anyways I used to use Norton but found out that Avast is way better and picks up more virus attack faster than you can take care of them easily with this program.
Boot into "Safe Mode" (usually F5 or F8). Then go to ADD/Remove.
you should really check out Leo Laporte's advice. he's a famous tech guy that has his own radio show. in the notes, he mentions the word "bloated". he means, full of unnessary features that probably slows down the preformuce and alot of "left over" stuff even after removing the program.
Once you have uninstalled it, (you may need c.cleaner to do this -have listed url below) then install some of these free ones you dont have, they are all good.

If the antivirus software was not from a reliable source then it may be spyware. Have you run a spyware check, there is one called spybot search and destroy that is free and pretty good. Microsoft users can also find a number of free tools on the microsoft website that can check for viruses and spyware too and advise you on preventing problems in the future.

What you can do, is disable Norton and download AVG or Avast for free and run their virus scan. When you download, make sure to save it to a file that you can access easily,or remember where it is at. You don't want to run two AV programs at the same time, but, if you make sure to disable one before running the other, then you are good to go.

As far as saving to a file, that way you know where it is,so that you can remove it later.

You have adware or malware. If you download the free version of Superantispyware, this software will find what all others miss or unable to delete. I use myself.

Update and then run an indepth scan. When the spyware, adware, viruse is found delete. Always good to reboot after.

You have a serious Trojan

No antivirus or antispyware protection is perfect, not even the expensive ones but a good mixture will help you clean your system and hopefully keep it clean. It is advisable not to run two or more anti virus applications as they may interfere with one another and cause false alerts.

As the biggest of the problems seem to be associated with Spyware, for starters, download, update and run a full scan using the following product:

Rating virus/Antispyware/Adware programs?

I'm trying to protect my computer with the best (free) programs that I can. I have Norton that came with my computers' software bundle, but it's a resource hog and is huge.

I've been looking at these for AntiVirus:

AVG - I've tried it already, though a lot of people said it's not that great and doesn't pick up a lot of viruses very well).

Avast - I have tried this one as well...but just the same as with AVG, a lot of people said it wasn't all that great at picking up various viruses.

Trend Micro - I know they have been around for a very long time (I know of them by the years-old name "PC-Cillin" Antivirus).

Nod32 - Not sure if this one costs to buy it...haven't looked into it yet, but a lot of people seemed to like it in reviews that I have red. Never heard of it.

Bit Defender: Apparently this is a free version of some kind of antivirus/antispyware program by Microsoft. It seemed to get good reviews, though.

Free Anti-spam softwares - where???

I bought Norton Antivirus 2007 a few months ago and installed in my HP XP Notebook. In testing TuneUp Utilities 2007 recently, I am advised that there is no Anti-Spam software in my computer. To get the Anti-Spam facilities, I have to pay for such.

My questions are: (1) Is it true that Norton does not have Anti-spam function? (2) Where can I get a FREE anti-spam software? (3) Can I install this Anti-spam software and have them running parallel in my computer? (4) If not, then what must I do? Thanks.

Free Anti-spam softwares - where???nortin

To get what you call "anti-spam" software, you need to have something like Ella for Spam Control or Spam Butcher, or something else like that. Ella is free if you have Microsoft Outlook, but to get it for Outlook Express, you have to buy it.

Spam Butcher is free, however. So far as I know, Norton does not have anti-spam software included in its antivirus. Most all antispam software today is called "trainable" meaning you teach it what is spam and what isn't. If you have only Yahoo mail, it already has the best spam blocker there is.

I have been using it for about six years with a very high level of accuracy.
I dont think Norton has anti-Spam wear. You have to get the Norton Anti-Spam wear. I believe it is possible to have anit-Sperm wear and the Norton Antivirus 2007 running parallel. I would check with your computer techinician. He will be able to. in some cases. You will need to buy the same "brand" of antivirus as you do anti-spam

I am not a computer techincian just stuff i know

But check it out and see.

http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthrea...

http://www.eset.co.uk/smartsecurity/inde...

NOD32 question?photoshop

I use it, it's great, very small footprint and non intrusive.
NOD32 is a great antivirus program. The program is on par with Kaspersky as far as detection, and it is far and away better than McAfee, Norton, etc. It also is very low on system resources (unlike Kaspersky), which is the meaning of low or small footprint. I would say NOD32 is a very good program, and if configured properly you should have very few problems with malware. With any of these programs I recommend a secondary antispyware program (not antivirus), because generally spyware/adware is much more prevalent than viruses.

But yes try it, you won't regret it!
Your better of with kaspersky or AVG.

Something that you did is causing your BSOD. You guarantee you anti malware programs. I have been computing over 20 years and I do not guarantee any of my software. Start removing one by one what you did. You will probably get back to a good state on your computer. If the computer is new, go back to your dealer and ask for his help.

Can anyone suggest me a good firewall. Freeware only?

I recently had some major problems with Norton security services on my Pc. Their effectiveness caused me to have to reboot my entire pc and lose all data plus some interesting software.

This has lead me to find a good free security kit. I already downloaded AVG antivirus and now I'm looking for a good firewall that's either free of charge or available for pennies. If anyone can recommend a spyware blocker I would be greatly interested too.

Best suggestion wins him/herself 10 points

Can anyone suggest me a good firewall. Freeware only?norton antivirus

You need to install one firewall.

The Windows firewall doesn't stop malware on your pc from dialling out.

http://www.zonelabs.com Zone Alarm firewall OR

http://www.comodogroup.com/ - Comodo firewall.

You need to install one anti virus;

http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/... -AVG anti virus or

http://www.avast.com - Avast Antivirus

You need all three anti spyware programs;

http://www.ewido.net - AVG(Ewido) anti trojan.

http://www.lavasoft.com - Ad-Aware SE Personal anti adware

http://www.safer-networking.org - Spybot Search and Destroy anti spyware. Use the Teatimer settings to protect Internet Explorer, and the Immuniser to stop malware getting on your pc.

Also use Microsoft Defender and their online scans.

Is my computer and Internet protected with the softwares I have? I have...?

Is my internet and computer safe from virus, worms, spyware, etc?

I have Avast! 4 Home Edition. This is my antivirus and it comes with Web Shield which monitors internet activity.

I also have Comodo Firewall. This is well...my firewall.

I also have Ad-aware (Latest Free Version). This is to scan for spyware, malware, etc.

Up next I have Spyware Blaster. Its like a backup firewall. It protects my computer from spyware.

Lastly I have CCleaner and Advanced Windows Care V2. They are just registry cleaners, system optimization, and to speed up my PC.

All these softwares are free versions. I don't want to pay, but i try getting the best free softwares to protect my computer. Are these good enough? Is there anything better? My computer doesn't have a lot of memory. 224 MB of RAM. I heard Avast, Comodo, Ad-aware are one of the best free softwares out there.

I run anti virus and spyware scans ATLEAST 3 times a week.

So the main question; is my computer safe?

Is my computer and Internet protected with the softwares I have? I have...?norton ghost

your computer is more than safe. great software choices :)

you dont have to worry about scanning your computer so much. just schedule scans, and you wont have to worry about it.

Risk of being caught file sharing?

Im not the best when i comes to computers but a firend of mine was suggesting bit torrent or limewire, i can type and use my computer but when i comes to software i get others to help me with it, the same friend helped me install any games, or antivirus i have on my computer, what are the risks of being caught or how is it that they catch you in the UK

Risk of being caught file sharing?norton internet security 2008

YOU HAVE BEEN REPORTED TO INTERPOL. PLEASE ASSUME THE POSITION.

Risk of being caught file sharing?spyware removal

Risk of getting caught is very low. Risk of viruses somewhat higher if you do not know what you are doing.
Risk is high, but not for what you think.

Because you are ignorant, your computer will get totally wrecked by using Limewire or bittorrent. Invaders will just dump viruses and spyware of every type onto your computer. First, they will hunt through your system to find passwords; then hunt for credit card numbers and your social security number. Having failed that, they will target your computer for a slow death.

So stealing music and movies won't be worth it.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

If you get dumped from the Yahoo servers or get a Ypager error do not assume that you have been booted. This is not always the case. The problem is due to the low total physical memory and still low its availability. If you have dial-up and your computer is not of the latest system, you will be encountering problems of delayed messages. You need not change the Messenger.Instead add RAM.

How to safely back up files on my PC (windows XP) & completely wipe it for a clean start?

My PC bought Jan 2006. PC came with 56K. ITU v.90 modem, but i have cable connected. Why is it still slow? friend suggested might be a virus which is not removable by my McAfee (Security center) antivirus. Windows IE keeps freezes. When 1st turn on PC, takes ages to open 1st email. Also have system mechanis 6 installed. It didn't detect problem hence problem is not fix. PC still has A LOT of memory %26 huge hard drive capacity. SM6 always indicate speed as FAIR.

You might not need to wipe it out and start over. And no - having a dial up modem won't affect the speed of anything as long as you are using cable (though I have actually seen on more than one occasion someone still dialing up despite having a cable modem attached - those people were incredibly stupid however).

Does anyone know if Zone Alarm Security Suites Pro can also be installed on a laptop?

I have heard that this is one of the best antispyware and antivirus programs that you can buy, but can it also be downloaded to a laptop and is it as effective as it would be on a desktop?

Also, does anyone know where I can buy the program that allows the laptop to be accessed by my fingerprints only?

Do they have voice recognition/any type of biometric security software available on the market?

Thank you

Does anyone know if Zone Alarm Security Suites Pro can also be installed on a laptop?pc security

Yes Zone Alarm Pro (ZAP) Will work on a laptop just as effectively as a desktop. It provides a tough firewall for wireless internet adapters and wired networks. Other than that there will be no difference at all.

As for biometric security at the consumer level, check out Privaris dot com.

Trend Micro Help--Where is my License key?

I have TrendMicro PC-cillin Antivirus for my computer. I bought it legitimately from Best Buy about a year ago, and it's now expired. I want to update my software, but I didn't register my product when I first got it--I just installed it and used it without registering.

I can re-register and buy a new product, but I need the "License key" to do that.

I have the serial number and the original package I bought it all in, but I have NO CLUE what the license key is!!

Can someone PLEASE help me??? Where do I look and what kind of number is it??

Trend Micro Help--Where is my License key?photoshop

The price difference between buying Trend Micro new and renewing an older version is small, $10-15. But, if you dead set on renewing, the license key is saved within the Windows registry. If you don't know what the Windows registry is then you should call a customer service agent to walk you through the steps. Trend Micro offers free customer service. Otherwise, go to Start Menu %26gt; Run %26gt; type "regedit" %26gt; [Enter] %26gt; ..Go to the following HotKey HKEY_Local_Machine %26gt; Software %26gt; TrendMicro %26gt;

Trend Micro Help--Where is my License key?symatec

Yes, Well the thing of it all is that it usually sticker-ed on the jacket that it came with or in or on the small manual itself. I hope that's not bad news for you. You always look to keep it with the rest of need-to-save product keys %26 code papers.

Good Luck
See if there is a key on the packaging - sometimes inside the box. If not contact the company via email or call if they provide a number and they should be able to help you out.

Anti virus for Macbook Pro?

I just bought a Macbook pro today. Before I go surfing on the net with it what kind of anti virus sofware should I get? I only have Norton Antivirus for my Sony Vaio right now. But Im guessing I should not use it for my new Mac since its windows. I have heard that Macs do not need anti virus software because they have anti virus protection already built in. Is that true? Am I safe without it? Or is it best to get some anways? And if so what kind?

Anti virus for Macbook Pro?pop up blocker

Rumour has it that Macs are immune to viruses.

Anti virus for Macbook Pro?systemworks

No computer is 100% immune to viruses or malware. Although Macs are less susceptible to infection, it's always good practice to install software that protects your system. OS X comes with a built-in firewall, not virus protection.

There's a free virus scanner for Mac called ClamXav. It quite popular among Mac users so I would suggest you give that a go before spending money on commercial software.

http://www.markallan.co.uk/clamXav/

Before you connect to the internet, don't forget to turn on the built-in firewall;

1. Click the Apple menu [ 铮?] and select System Preferences from the list.

2. Under "Internet and Network", click the "Sharing" icon.

Computer kicking me off internet?

I have a three year old Compaq Presario and a cable modem. For about a year now, every time I start the computer, an error message reads: 鈥淚nvalid BackWeb Application Id 鈥?940576鈥濃€? This has never really been an issue, but it might have something to do with the numerous problems I鈥檝e been having recently. About a week ago, I noticed my graphics 鈥渇lip鈥? i.e. all the graphics would turn into the safe mode format for a second, and then they would flip back to the normal format. Also, the sound on my computer would randomly stop working. All this would go away after rebooting, only to return later in my session. I downloaded those Microsoft Updates and installed Norton Antivirus. After those two operations, my computer went into a reboot loop, requiring a trip into Best Buy, where they told me that I did not have a virus and that it was probably a software problem, requiring 120 dollars worth of investigating and possibly a wipe of the hard drive. I promptly said goodbye and tried fixing it on my own. My computer was no longer in a reboot loop, so I did a system restore (getting rid of Norton in the process) and a defragment of both the C and D drives. I also re-installed the Microsoft Updates. Then my latest problems came up. A few minutes into my session, I get an error message (besides the one mentioned earlier), saying: 鈥淕eneric Host Process for Win32 Services has encountered a problem and needs to close.鈥?Also, my computer kicks me off the internet 10 minutes into my session. A reboot cures this, only to kick me off the internet after another 10 minutes.

Can someone help Please!! Thanks so much!!

message:

Solution:

If the problem persists, it is recommended that you check the following list of connection related components.

If you connect using a proxy server, you should check the settings for this. If you are unsure of the correct settings, you should contact your Internet service provider.

If you use a firewall, you should check the status of this. Make sure you check that the firewall software is not blocking access to any antivirus update components. To see a list of components, please click here to view the 'Updates and Firewalls' section.

Check that you can connect to other web sites - if you cannot view any websites with your browser, the update will also be affected. You should check your Internet connection settings. If you are unsure of how to do this, please contact your Internet service provider.

Windows Explorer reports files and folders from the hard drive but not my CD Rom or flash memory cards. Other programs like iTunes or Windows Media Player reads and reports the media files just fine. Microsoft Knowledge Base reports that this problem is a result of anti virus software and firewalls. The problem persists with antivirus and firewalls turned off. THANKS

Myspace buffer overrun???spyware

A buffer over run is a type of attack. It is not usually a memory defect in your machine.

Somebody from somewhere is trying to overflow your memory buffer. If they can do that then the overflow gets written into your memory register and it could be for any type of file they choose.

If your machine is giving you an alarm and shutting down then they are not likely getting through. If you can observe where they are coming from or which port they are attacking maybe you can block them.

If you have Norton you should be able to get technical help from them on this. See if their support pages are any help.

You might like to ask in the Castle Cops forum or even directly from Microsoft.

Have you been doing your updates from microsoft regularly.

If not then you should go to Microsoft update now and update your programs. You should be able to get there from Start%26gt;all programs%26gt;Windows update or Microsoft update at the top of the program list. Here is a shortcut.

http://www.update.microsoft.com/microsof...

My system lists both but they both go to Microsoft.

SVCHOST.exe using 100 percent of cpu. 10 different instances of svchost.exe running at same time?

MY computer has been running really slow lately. I have checked task manager to see what has been using all of my cpu. I discovered that svchost.exe was using 100 percent of the cpu. when i went run and typed in cmd. i then typed in tasklist/svc to see the current tasks running under svchost. THe cmd window says that "Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600] "tasklist' is not recognized as an internal or external command,

operable program or batch file." I know this cant be because i used another computer with windows xp and it was succesful in showing me the current tasks running under svchost. Is there something wrong with the software on my computer. I have run antivirus, spyware and adware and have come up empty handed. I do not kno what i should do please respond.

I can only tell you the more instances of svchost.exe are running the better it is for performance. It's indeed not normal for it to be taking 100%, many virus/ spyware target this file as an entry point.

No, all those programs you are talking about won't work if windows removed you have to install them again. you can install every thing on c:\ but you save your work on other drive like files you typed music movies pictures and so on they will be safe.about the programs when you install program windows will save a file in a folder call system32 and those files have extinction DLL when you click to start the program first thing windows does is going to those DLL files and read the instructions stored inside the the program opens up. if the program was on other drive and you formatted windows and you tried to open any of those programs all you see is missing DLL.

Internet connection, there but inaccessable?

My grandfather called up and told me the internet on his account wasn't working. I told him to try it on my xp account and he said the firefox didn't work but then the IE worked. After that he logged in back on his account and the internet was working there too. For about a day or two, he would have to go through this process to get the internet working on his account, until it stopped working on my account as well. Even though he can't access the internet, there is an internet connection icon on the status bar. The interesting thing is that even though I can't browse the internet on the internet browsers, my other programs seem to have access to the internet. Spybot could update its definitions and my email program can connect to gmail. Spybot and Adaware only found tracking cookies and my avast antivirus is coming out negative. Could the Creative or ATI software be affecting something with the internet connection??

I just have the feeling there's something on your machine that's flying below the radar.

One possibility: Check your running tasks (via Task Manager) and/or your startup task list (msconfig) for any of these: tasks

netpefr32.exe

flsmontr.exe

ulksystem32.exe

If you see them, you may have a smitfraud variant. If so, check out the second entry in this URL (it's huge) for what worked for me:

Also, search the Web for any names that that look suspicious.

Much good luck

Anyone have any tips for removing a Bloodhound.(whatever goes here, not sure what it was) virus?

This type of virus isn't just a low security risk, it is a very high security risk, annoys you, and frustrates and tries to wreck your computer. Right now, none of my stupid antivirus programs are detecting it. Downloaded and tried Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool. Didn't detect anything. But I KNOW there is someone trying to hack my computer right now. The Bloodhound. virus is like a gateway for a hacker. It turned my firewall of, i fixed that, destroyed NIS 2007 (I have it again now, I just downloaded a trial version :( ). It disabled Windows Defender, I can't turn that on again for some reason, and the stupid virus slows my computer down. Any step-by-step guides would be nice. I really need help!!!!!!!! BTW, I have Windows Vista, Basic Edition

Anyone have any tips for removing a Bloodhound.(whatever goes here, not sure what it was) virus?ducati

Blood hound is a spyware not a virus. Most spyware is installed via cookies, java code and social networking. Tagging and bookmarket are a new tool for hackers to produce spyware. There is a consensus from about every major PC magazine that 98% of anti-spyware programs are worthless. They cant keep up with the onslaught of the billion dollar spam and spyware industry.

However, some signature based anti- spyware and keylogger blockers have a track record of blocking almost a %100 of the spyware on the market. The #1 is Webroot's Spysweeper. This company updates the signatures daily and blacklist IPs, scripts and codes that are known spyware. Its the best protection outside a security suite. But most people want freeware. So you get what you pay for and loose out on security.

I have a very high ping on game servers when I allow SVChost.exe to run.?

When I shut it down in the task manager the pings go back to normal. I feel like this is a solution, but one that could be better for sure. Any help would be great.

HP Pavilion dv6000 hard disk problem?

I bought an Hp pavilion dv6000 from around 5 days and I found something strange happening: when I put anything in partition c: it consumes around 1 giga! I have two paritions c: and d: (HP recovery) so I download everything in c:. When I installed kaspersky antivirus, the space decreased by 1 giga. when I updated, Hp software, another 1 giga is lost. The partition had at first when I opened the box 199gb free of 221gb and now 190gb with firefox, antivirus, hp and soundcard update, and some files on desktop....I have windows vista home premium...so what do you think is the problem?!!

HP Pavilion dv6000 hard disk problem?free antivirus download

I would try reformatting the disk since it's new and see if you're still having problems. Pop in your Windows install disc, go into recovery console, and type "format c: /fs:ntfs /q" (without the quotes) and hit enter. This will do a quick reformatting of the drive. Then type exit and it will restart. Reinstall Windows and start install apps again. If you're having the same issues, take it back. It will still be under warranty if there's anything wrong with the hard drive itself, and I'm sure they have a 30-day return period wherever you bought it (or at the very least a 10-day period).

About reformatting?

to reformat your pc #1 you need the windows disk (should of came with your laptop ) or you may have a partion restore on the laptop being that it's a compaq , if you do just use it , also if you have the restoration disk you will also need your driver disk . or you will need to go to their website and download the correct drivers BEFORE you reformatt,

Computer virus help? Help me please.?

I have some serious problems with my computer. Everytime I try to log onto the internet, there is a popup that reminds you to clean your computer with Anti-Virus program, and it is nonstop. On my desktop there is a message that reads,

" Your computer has several fatal errors due to spyware activity...

Your IP Address is 66.32.8.175 and via this address an unauthorized access was gained by another computer. It is strongly reccomended to install an antispyware software to close all security vulnerabilities."

What do I do to fix this problem? Norton Antivirus will not install... Norton Antivirus failed because of so many viruses. I don't trust any other software because of more viruses. I cannot re-install this computer because the re-installation CD is not compatible with my computer due to the age of the console. Windows security center is also poping up too much. What TRUSTFUL software could I use, and what forum website could I go to discuss this type of problem? What do I do?

My computer keeps Restarting by itself?

My comp keeps restarting by itself.

There are no "problems". Meaning, the internet is functional, Plenty of memory.

The only thing I would suspect would be causing this is too much Security software (lol), I do not use More than One Firewall nor AntiVirus.

My Main antivirus Program is Avast! Home Edition %26 My main firewall is Comodo Firewall PRO.

I use many Anti-Spyware Programs. Only 3 of which actually include Real-Time Protection.

The otherones are basicly on-Demand scanners.

World of Warcraft. My computer normally restarts by itself when playing this game.

Are there any tips, or ways I can prevent this from happening (it is EXTREMELY annoying).

My computer keeps Restarting by itself?hijack this

Some of the things which can do this:

1. CPU over heating.

2. Lack of ram or ram breaking down.

3. OS problem (run error checking)

4. Conflict of programs.

5. Graphic card starting to breakdown.

Sorry cannot be more help-full Its trial %26 error till you find out what it is.

My computer keeps Restarting by itself?liveupdate

When you're starting up the computer, hit F5 and then disable the "automatic restart" setting.

This should stop your computer automatically restarting on a system crash so you can better diagnose the problem.

(when it crashes you should end up with a black or blue screen instead with an error code)
this happened to me too. i got a new comp. i got a mac. it rocks.
you may need to check the temp of the computer, this happens with my brothers quite often, then i changed the thermal paste on the CPU and it was all better.

I heard you can download software through the command prompt (cmd), like Firefow and AVG antivirus. Is this true and how can you do this?

The only way I can think of doing that is through telnet. And as far as I know, firefox has no telnet applications server-side.

You shouldn't be running IE6, IE7 is much better.
of course u can but u need to type alto of code.

if u got a bug on IE6.0 just gram IE7.0 and upgrade it, or use Firefox.
I would believe your best course is to allow us to help resolve your IE problem.

Three things you should try. They are simple and in certain instances effective.

1) Clear your cookie. IE%26gt; Tools%26gt; Internet Options%26gt; Delete cookies

2) Clear your temp internet files. that in in the same location.

3) Clear your resolver Cache. Start%26gt; Run%26gt; cmd%26gt; ipconfig /flushDNS
Use Firefox, you can't download anything through the command line on a PC. Stop using IE, it's downright awful.

I need help with my computer (spyware, adware, viruses)?

I have around 100 viruse/adware/spyware type things on my computer. Normally, my security programs would take care of this, but now they seem to be attacking themselves instead of the software that I don't want! I tried installing Windows AntiVirus Pro 2006, but that keeps getting blocked by Symantec. When I temporarily disable Symantec, I can at least download the installer, but when I use it, it does NOTHING! What should I do?

Scan your computer with a antivirus program in SAFE MODE.
There's a good list of free spyware removal tools here, also has some good info on how to avoid stuff like this.http://www.basicspywaretips.com/getridof...
Symantec sucks!!! - try this link: http://safety.live.com/site/en-us/defaul...

This should clean your computer of viruses, all spyware and a whole lot of other stuff you don't want or need.

Then go to www.download.com and search for Avast anti-virus HOME EDITION and download it. It's a free virus scanner and it works AWESOME. I think it even works better than all the other ones you have to buy and it always updates itself.
Try this link out it is pretty good for getting most stuff off your PC.What some people do not know is once you get certain virus it will usually stop your stuff from working right it over rides your scanners,So try this link it should help

The first thing I would try is Microsoft Windows Defender. This is a free tool from Microsoft and I find it highly effective. You can find it here...

How to create windows XP image with executables and load it into various computers?

I would like to check whether it is possible to create an image that contains all the standard executables (CD/DVD writing software, adobe reader, winrar, windows live messenger or yahoo messenger, antivirus and antispyware).

To do the image I can use Ghost but the problem is that I would like to load this image into computers that have different specs. Some are via, others intel, others sis....

Do you think that if I create three different images for each chipset and then load that particular image, I would be able to have a good OS?

Would an image created on a P4 intel chipset mainboard work on another P4 intel chipset mainboard from a different manufacturer?

What is Norton Personal Firewall Error 100?internet security

You cannot have two av or two firewalls installed on your pc, Norton is more than likely undergoing a clash as the two programs conflict against each other.

I don't care for Norton products, NIS is a resource hog for sure, slows your system down to a crawl.

Go get yourself the Norton removal tool from a trusted source and get rid of all of what you have and perhaps install avg free as an av, then look towards sygate or comodo as a firewall

Unable to uninstall pccilin.?

I had once installed anti virus pccilin. I mistakenly deleted the software but dint uninstalled it. Now whenever I install a antivirus it says please uninstall pcclin and the install it again.

what can i do??

Unable to uninstall pccilin.?kawasaki

Firstly, get this:

http://www.ccleaner.com/

This is freeware (and totally legit) which cleans your computer.

Run a "Cleaner" then a "Registry" which essentially clean up a lot of the unused trash on your PC. This usually gets rid of stuff PCCillin would have left behind in the registry and Hard Drive. (This may take a while). It will also make your computer generally run a lot quicker. Run the "Registry" fixer about 5 or 6 times until it tells you everything is OK a few times in a row. The Registry fixer should really only take a few minutes.

Restart your computer (just to make sure).

Try installing your other Virus Scanner Now.

If it doesn't work:

2. Reinstall PC-Cillin. This should replace all the files you deleted. Then properly uninstall the program (Control Panel %26gt; Add/Remove Programs).

If you got rid of the disk/install file, sometimes it pays to download the Demo (http://www.tucows.com/preview/502311 - I think this might be one). The demo might have common uninstall files and thus will remove the other version (but this is kind of unlikely).
