I have a theory about norton anti virus and other anti-virus software. Do you think that anti-virus companys intentionally create viruses and release them to make more money?

Because it is possible, this is a good reason to switch to freeware antivirus software. I like the free Avira Antivir because all you have to do is close their advertisement that pops up when you update the virus signature. Small price to "pay" for one of the strongest AV programs available, free or otherwise.

Not likely. They would infect at least one professional hacker, who'd be able to trace the worm/trojan/virus, etc back to the central database and then, well, we wouldn't have professional anti-viral software OR the scandal would be all over the news
No I really don't think so. They have enough Cyber-thugs out there to keep them in business!
