Virus or spyware?

recently, this notification button comes up from my toolbar on my desktop in the bottom right corner saying i have a virus and that i should use their products to delete the virus. this is fake and it will probly download a virus or soemthin if i click it. im not sure if this notification thing is a virus.

because, i have a real virus scan thing i bought a while ago. its norton and its the best one they had(+100 bucks) so it has scanners and stuff that finds and destroys viruses. it works just like be4 but it doesnt say anything about the notification bar i got. first, it said i had a virus but then it deleted it but the notification bar is still there. i tried 3 types of scans and they dont find anything.

so my antivirus/antispyare software says my computer is fine but i have this annoying notification thing. o yea and pop ups happen becuz of this notification button. at random moments when im nto doin anything, a pop up will appear and the notification thing will show.

Virus or spyware?norton

run the smitfraudfix tool that should get rid of it

Virus or spyware?spyware remover

i guess you install a program with spyware...

if it is the case the will just pop-up try to remove that program ex.(free screensaver or free program and etc. you download)
all i can say is that virus programs that you buy are usually only good for protecting you from viruses and spyware. i had a really expensive mcaffee thing but it was awful and i had to get the computer wiped. now i have avg free edition and it found spyware i downloaded by accident and a couple days after it found it and deleted it. now im pop-up free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Norton Sucks...that's the facts...obviously you aren't being protected or you wouldn't be posting your question.
