Regarding webcam,please fix my problem?

Dear Friend

I would be thankful to you if you can answer me and help me in fixing out my probelm.

Few days back my laptop was damaged by virus attack coz my antivirus had expired long back.I got that fixed and I lost all my programs but fortunatly hard disk was ok.

Previously I was using windows 2000 but now I have installed windows xp.Now I am not able to use my webcam on my system.My computer specialist told me that my webcam has been damaged.So I bought new creative's webcam but I could nt use that as every time it was saying no camera detected.Then I thought that this cam is not good and bought another webcam of Microsoft but again I am having the same problem.It is not working at all even after installing the software correctly.

I thought might be USB port is bad but it is workin with other devices.

Could you please tell me why I am having this probelm?

I am a cancer surgeon who is unable to perform this operation.

May be any software person can tell me what to do

try with another usb port if stil you have a problem

then u might need to get windows update visit to www.windowsupdate.com and check if your computer need any updates or not bcoz without having usb dirver update you will have this problem

try booting computer without the cam plugged in and then plug it back in and see if it works,,,,but the downside is that u have to do this all the time!!!!! another thing to check if there are any ghost devices and delete them. If there are ghost devices they will cause conflicts on the USB ports....and maybe update your drivers...Good luck!!!!
