Hi. Im buying a laptop of someone and I've noticed a pieces of what seems to be malicious software on it. There are things like Daemon Tools and Regdoctor on there, and no real antivirus.... Does this seem safe? Are they just spyware things or not? There are tons of pop ups from these things which seem worrying. However the laptop seems good otherwise. Can I just wipe them of from the computer when I buy it? I dont think Control Panel Add/Remove Programs will be that good.
Please help!

save your data
wipe your harddrive
start afresh
it will improve system performance than any hot fixes like a new antivirus/spyware

Sounds like you may have spyware in your comp, so here's what I suggest: go to http://www.mbusbyuk.info/links.html and scroll down the page to Free Online Scanners. Click on the link for Ewido and do a full system scan.
