Is all the avg free software use less ram?

well i only have 224mb of ram and i only have avg antivirus free edition and i want to also know if avg anti rookit and avg antispam is also an less ram user?

Is all the avg free software use less ram?agv

AVG Anti-Virus uses very low resources and AVG Anti-Spam is no different. If you purchase AVG Internet Security, you'd find that Anti-Spam and Anti-Spyware is part of it, and again it uses little resources. Anti-Rootkits do not run in the background. It only scans when you want it to...so no resources will be used, unless you scan for Rootkits...hope that this helps.

224mg of Ram isn't really enough these days. You need a minimum of 512kb. Don't ever upgrade to XP or you will be in trouble. Just use AGG anti virus (free) and Download Spybot. With Spybot you can run it when your computer isn't busy.
I'm not quite sure about the space but you can go to my source and ask over there. You have to sign up and ask away your question. They'll give you full information over there.
avg is a very lite antivirus, so is avg antispam.

PC problem. Dont know wether it is a hardware or software failure?

So my computer always tends to : 1) freeze up 2) Crash -%26gt; turn off -%26gt; restart

point 1) occurs when i am using Mword, Opera, Firefox etc

To solve point 1) i defragmentated, Uninstalled my old antivirus and replaced it with a new one (Bitdefender), Installed a Registory program and ran it, deleted old unwanted files, folders and programs. I ran antivirus scans and found barely nothing, i also systemed restored. Both point 1) and 2) occured less and less.

Until yesterday when i was typing up my College Practicals, when my computer froze up again.

I forced it to shutdown %26gt; Wait for 2 min %26gt; Trned on the pc %26gt; waited for windows to load normally%26gt; error scan %26gt; login screen %26gt; desktop loaded %26gt; tried to make backup %26gt; froze again

rebooted %26gt; 8] %26gt; last known good configuration %26gt; error scan %26gt; freezes before the login screen can load

reboot%26gt; [f8] %26gt; debugging mode %26gt; freezes

reboot%26gt; f8 %26gt; safe mode %26gt; freezes even before loading

Can anyone guide me towards the right direction

What does the event log say - check the system log and application log. Get a diagnostic program that will boot from your computer and test the memory. This is probably the cause of freezing - also it could be CPU temp running to hot.

How could I speedup my computer after installing the antivirus ?

need with software prg

How could I speedup my computer after installing the antivirus ?anti virus scan

I am betting you're using a resource hog as an antivirus program...I'd guess you're using McAfee or Norton. If you are you're never going to speed up your computer until you remove these hogs from your system and install a good anti-virus that does not use up all your computer resources.

I suggest you use AVAST - http://www.avast.com/ it's free and it is very highly rated. But, if you're going to install a new anti-virus - uninstall the one you have now first - otherwise you could damage your operating system and neither anti-virus will work well.

Am I using adequate security software on my computer?

I have been performing frequent banking trasactions over the web for some years and never had any problems.

I'm currently using my Vista Security suite along with Avast antivirus.

Any suggestions about improving the security of my computer and online transactions?

Am I using adequate security software on my computer?anti virus

I would install %26 run Ad Aware on a regular basis. Also, use Firefox instead of IE, much safer.

Am I using adequate security software on my computer?auto protect

Not using Vista is one big step up. You can greatly increase security by upgrading to something like Ubuntu:

http://www.ubuntu.com

If you stick with Vista, then use McAfee's 12-in-1 security suite.
keep your anti-spyware and anti-virus updated, + a firewall. also it would be good to ensure that the servers you are using w/ the transactions are encrypted, also would be a good idea to have verisign or some other phishing filter to ensure you are on a legit site. also common sense works wonders!

by the way, another tip is to not check "remember my password" on your pc, and use strong passwords and security questions with your accounts, and not to use the same passwords. change 'em regularly.

only do transactions with trusted sources

also, don't have any sensitive personal information stored on your pc, also would be a good idea to be enrolled in an ID protection program.

good luck

Is there any free anitvirus software downloads with a trial longer than 30 days?

Ive looked everywhere on the internet to dowload antivirus protection, I had a free 6 month subscription to Norton but that expired, and now it seems that all the free trials are only about 30 days, is there a website where you can download protection for longer than 30 days?

Hi also there is www.mcafee.com/dod even though they explain that it's for people who were/are in the military, but just check anything and download the antivirus which would cost like $20 for others.
There is a list of free programs at this site

I use Ca Anti-Virus

www.avast.com

Does error and adware removal software really work?

Does your computer antivirus not protect against these this and is it that easy for programs to get embedded in your computer?

Does error and adware removal software really work?antispyware

Computer viruses are one thing, adware and spyware are two distinctly different things. Some antivirus can see spyware, but can't remove it. Most can't even see it.

Every mouse click or change of page on the internet loads anything from a cookie to an unseen ad. Most do no harm except clutter up your hard drive, but some trojans (a form of spyware) can really cause a problem. If you want to keep your computer free of this, get both Ad-Aware and SpyBot. Download, install and run them often. You should use the immunize feature in SpyBot, it immunizes the machine against over 14,000 known pieces of spyware. Ad-Aware should be run in a full system scan the first time, and after that, run a Smart Scan. You canget them both at download.com.

Its very easy for programs to get embedded. I have Norton Anti virus with auto protect. When I ran it, it couldn't find ad-ware. Then I downloaded spybot and it caught it. It then gave me the option to block it, should I visit whatever site that keeps auto downloading crap.
Yes. Try AdAware and Spybot. They both work great and they're free.
You need to remove all the junk from your pc, and repair the registry for it to run well, think of it as a service.

Use the link below, there is a page on my site with info on how to, and links to good FREE tools to keep you pc running well.
